There are many keyboard shortcuts that you can use on Twitter to speed up your navigation on the site and any actions you intend to use.
Embed a Tweet:
If you want to refer to a tweet when writing a blog post, there is a much easier way to view the tweet than to just screenshot it. Interactive tweets are now embeddable allowing readers to retweet, reply and favourite the tweet without leaving the page. This is now also possible for vine videos in the same manner.

The above tweet was embedded by clicking “more” underneath the tweet and simply copying the code across.
Get RT free search results:
If you are searching for tweets around a particular keyword but don’t want streams of RTs by other people to show up, you can use the search term “keyword –RT”. This can be very useful when searching for a very common keyword. Alternatively, if you want to only find RTs including those that have been created using a retweet button and therefore don’t have the letters “RT” in the tweet, you can search for “keyword RT”
Save a search:
If you regularly search for a similar keyword or phrase then you can save that search for future reference. Do this by creating your search and then clicking on the cog to the right of the search box:
Don’t @reply when you actually want to @mention:
An @reply is used when replying to another user’s tweet and therefore sending a message that begins with their Twitter handle so that they will see it. An @mention is used when you are mentioning a Twitter user in your tweet and should be placed within the body of the tweet. As Twitter sees all tweets that begin with a username as a reply, they will not appear on the timelines of others and will only be seen by yourself and the receiver of the tweet. If you wish to mention someone but still want to put their username at the start of the tweet, then the easiest way to do this is to use a full stop (.) before the @ symbol:
Back up your tweets:
You never know what will happen in the future and your account could plausibly be hacked at any time. But what would happen to all those tweets you’ve sent out over the years? Would they disappear never to be seen again? Twitter offers an easy way to back up all your tweets using Twitter archive. It’s easy enough to do, simply login to your account and head to account settings where you will find this button right at the bottom:
Once you have been through the whole archive process you will be able to download your archive in a zip file format and extract it to view your history of tweets at any time offline. Have you got any nifty Twitter tips and tricks you can share with me? If so leave them in the comments below
